In the heart of the beautiful Ortigia island, a charming one-bedroom apartment inside Palazzo Blanco, a typical example of the Syracusan Baroque architecture.
Built on Palazzo Blanco’s old “carretteria” (formerly, the place where the Sicilian carts were made), our Suite is an elegant one-bedroom apartment of 100 sqm composed of a hallway with sofa bed, a living area with kitchenette, a bedroom, a bathroom with hydromassage shower cabin and a luxuriant garden (shared with the adjacent apartment), from which you access the apartment. In the second half of the 17th century it became the residence of the architect Giovanni Verméxio, famous for having designed the main altar and the Chapel of the Cathedral of Syracuse, as well as the chapel of the Church of Santa Lucia al Sepolcro, which houses the relics of the patron of Syracuse.
Palazzo Blanco Suite is beautifully decorated, and features a particular ceiling with exposed beams, except for the bathroom.
From the hallway, furnished with a double sofa bed and an armchair, you enter the bedroom, which has a four-poster king-size bed, a small table for 2, a wall-mounted TV and several ceramic items.
The kitchenette is peculiar: it is hidden inside a closet and equipped with induction stovetop, coffee machine and kettle.
It is the perfect all-season accommodation, since it features both air conditioning and heat pump, making the room fresh and airy during summer, and warm in winter.
Its location is ideal to explore the island: it is located 50 meters from Castello Maniace, 100 meters away from Piazza Duomo, the Bellomo National Museum and the two beaches of the island.
Pets are welcome, with an extra cost of € 30 for final cleaning.
