Street food workshop with Cotti in Fragranza

Available on Fridays

A cooking lesson with “Cotti in Fragranza”, a social cooperative that reintegrates in need people in a center for migrants and people with disabilities. We will cook Sicilian street food delicacies and taste wine in an experience of community awakening.

An encounter, more than a simple cooking lesson, where the narration of Cotti in Fragranza is mixed with the ingredients, warmed up with the fire and energy of the people and finally savored together.

Cotti in Fragranza is a social cooperative that creates Sicilian flavors with innovation, through the Cuisine creates pay-back and social inclusion for those in need. The social action of Cotti in Fragranza develops from the Malaspina juvenile prison to the Casa San Francesco kitchen, a center for migrants and disabled people in the heart of Ballarò.

The cooking workshop lasts one hour, from 18 to 19; the chef Francesco Gambino, together with the guys of the House, will pass from history to the preparation of some Sicilian dishes such as Panelle and crocchè, Arancine and other musts of the Sicilian rotisserie; and they will tell us how this project has been important to change and recover their dignity.

We will end with an aperitif of delights prepared together and a tasting of wines from the Tenute Orestiadi, born from a cooperative of winemakers and the Orestiadi Foundation, which for years has been committed to enhancing the area through cultural events.

It will also be possible to visit the structure, the terrace and the garden of Casa San Francesco.
