The tale of the olive oil: olive groves, farm and tasting

Those who value agriculture preserve the landscape. Francesca and her family support the region by producing an olive oil that originates from the best Sicilian varieties, we will visit her farm, walk among olive trees and taste amazing olive oil.

The olive tree is an element that strongly characterizes Mediterranean plant life. Due to Sicily’s geographical position, characteristics and history, the olive has come to represent an essential element of the landscape. From Greek times, it has always been considered a sacred tree, due to its fruit and the oil that is obtained from it. The olive tree is a symbol of peace, strength, resistance, and purification.

Extra virgin olive oils from Sicily are characterized in particular by their aroma. Sicily is home to specific environmental factors, such as the climate and also the soil, which create a sort of “magic” that is difficult to imitate and export elsewhere and that makes it the best location for the olive tree.
A visit to this establishment will make you aware of how oil is a delicious and simple product, yet complex to create and one that requires care and attention in all phases of production.

During the guided visit, the techniques and phases of production of extra virgin olive oil will be demonstrated in detail. Afterward, you will have the opportunity to taste different types of oil along with bread and other bite-sized tasters of typical products.

We will go for a walk through the olive groves to appreciate the wisdom and greatness of our olive trees and to discover a rural identity that is widespread in Sicily.
