Vintage boat tour in Palermo
“I found happiness in the darkest days of my life.” - Francesco Caci, captain of the Pajarita V
Join a 5 hour trip along the coastline of Palermo aboard an elegant and very comfortable 1960’s yacht.
The story of our captain is as fascinating as that of the sea that embraces Palermo. Pajarita V is a comfortable and elegant vintage motor yacht, the excursion off the coast lasts about 5 hours, with a delicious Sicilian brunch served onboard. We stop at the most beautiful spots of the coast as Grotta Della Regina all'Acquasanta, a thermal spring where Carolina of Austria loved to bathe. We will sight the rocky blue sea of Punta Priola 'Addaura, and the turquoise and the sandy waters of Mondello. Onboard you will find the snorkeling gears to explore the waters of the Gulf. It is exciting to chat with Captain Francesco to understand how the love and passion for the sea can have a substantial impact on someone's life. His background is deeply sea-related, having spent years in the Navy, in peace missions in the Persian Gulf, Bosnia, and Africa. Those experiences changed his life. Once back home to his family, he felt the need to clean the seas from unexploded bombs on the ocean floor. For years Francesco lived far from his sea, but then on a St. Valentine's Day, he gave his wife this 14-meter yacht, that had to return to its splendor and ride the sea. This family has dedicated body and soul to Pajarita V. Now their desire is never to stop discovering and share the wonders of the coast. It is possible to organize the baptism of the sea with a professional scuba instructor (not included). The dives can take place in the Addaura canyon (near the small port Roosevelt), rich in pottery and tuna anchors, or at the Arenella, to discover an ancient wreck.
