Walking tour in the footsteps of Fabrizio De André
Available on Saturdays
A guided tour of the Via del Campo 29rosso museum and a walking tour in the footsteps of the greatest Genoese singer-songwriter, Fabrizio De André. We discover a magical Genova like his songs set in these alleys.
The tour starts from the museum of Campo 29 Rosso - home of the Genoese singer-songwriters - in the old's city where we will get to know some important "memorabilia" by Fabrizio De André, from his Esteve '97 guitar to the newspapers, photographs, and original vinyl. Here, before 2010, the "Musica Gianni Tassio," a historic shop of Mr. Tassio, a collector and a fan of the singer-songwriters of the Genoese school, existed. After De André's death in 1999, this became the place of memory for the songwriter's fans, where a permanent exhibition was set up. We will pass through the sites of the great Faber, De André, such as Via del Campo, Piazza Banchi, the Church of the Annunciation, and the La Maddalena district. Here one can still see the ladies who search for some love outside their homes like Bocca di Rosa and Marinella, two characters of Faber's songs. This last visit is exclusive. We will discover the Genova that inspired other songwriters such as Luigi Tenco, Gino Paoli, Paolo Conte, Bruno Lauzi, and Ivano Fossati. We will capture the colors of this land made of sharp contrasts, a seaside city with its shady characters, and a great homeland of wealthy bankers and merchants. We will feel Genova, "Zena" for its inhabitants, a little ours too; Genova with its thousand stories, Genova as a timeless song.
