Spring is coming and it brings more hours of daylight, so you will be able to enjoy some hours at the park on the weekend or after work. In Torino, there are many places where you can relax in the open air while having a picnic or even just for a simple walk.

In this article you will find a selection of the best parks in Torino where you can have a picnic or ride a bike on long boulevards: you will enjoy your time in nature.

Parco del Valentino

Parco del Valentino is the green lung of the city, as it has dense vegetation and it is quite big. It is the ideal place for having a picnic and laying on the grass in the silence of nature. Furthermore, in Parco del Valentino there are also Giardino Roccioso e Borgo Medievale if you wish to dive into history and art. You can also ride a bike on the amazing boulevards of the park.

Parco Naturale di Stupinigi

Parco Naturale di Stupinigi is a well equipped area with tables and barbeques where you can enjoy a good BBQ. They are not subject to bookings and they are free to use. Furthermore, inside the park, there is also Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi (a hunting lodge), which was designed by Filippo Juvarra for the House of Savoy. So, you could also visit the lodge after you have sufficiently relaxed under a tree.

Parco della Pellerina

Parco della Pellerina is the biggest one in Torino and it’s a real oasis rich in plants, where you can relax under a tree. It is well equipped with picnic tables, but there are also many kiosks and refreshment points where you can enjoy a good ice cream or delicious pasta. In addition to it, there are also many fountains with drinkable water where you can refresh during the hot summer days.

Parco del Nobile

Parco del Nobile isn’t exactly in the city of Torino, but on the hills surrounding it. Nevertheless, it is close enough to the city, so you don’t need a car to reach it, you can go by public transport. Since it is on a hill, Parco del Nobile is the perfect place where you can relax far from the people, having a picnic, reading a good book, or sleeping under a tree.

Parco Fluviale del Po

Outside of Torino, between Settimo Torinese and San Mauro, there is Parco Fluviale del Po. As the name suggests, it revolves around the river Po. So, you will find many picnic tables and benches, but also a barbeque area for those who don’t want to give up a good dish of grilled meat. Furthermore, there are also long boulevards if you want to ride a bike surrounded by nature.

Parco della Maddalena

On the Turinese hills, there is also Parco della Maddalena, which is the highest one. There are many picnic tables, but also a very big play area for kids. So, it is the perfect place if you wish to spend a beautiful day with your family in the open air.

Since not every park is equipped with a barbeque area, pay attention to choosing the right one: in some parks, in fact, lighting up a fire is forbidden.
