overview
Charming apartment with balcony a few steps from the Duomo, in the beautiful city of Catania.
The house is located on the third floor of a building with an elevator and opens onto a small, finely furnished hallway, leading to the various rooms. The living area is a single open space with a double sofa bed, a dining table, a television, and a fully-equipped kitchen with an oven. The sleeping area features a bedroom with a queen-size bed, a mirrored closet, and a balcony. A bathroom with a shower completes the layout.
*Upon arrival or a few days before arrival it may be required to pay a tourist tax, which varies according to local regulations. You will find your reservation details within the Guest Area of Wonderful Italy.
*The apartment is located in the ZTL (limited traffic zone) area, therefore we suggest leaving the car in one of the nearby parking and enjoying the old town on foot.
The city of Catania boasts a splendid historical center, protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Its architectural wonders, but also the liveliness of the popular markets, the wild beauty of Mount Etna, and the clear sea of the coast will captivate you.
The Cathedral of Sant'Agata (the city's patron saint), the Bellini Theatre, the popular markets, Via Etnea, the splendid Benedictine Monastery (home of the University's Department of Human Sciences), and Mount Etna are just some of the wonders of this city.
Of course, it is impossible to leave out the culinary delicacies of the Catania tradition, such as arancini (yes, here they are called masculine!), iris (fried or baked stuffed bombs), Olivette di Sant'Agata and brioche with granita. Try them all!
And for lovers of barbecued horsemeat, a symbol of Catania's gastronomic tradition, a must is Via del Plebiscito, a street in the historic center flooded with the unmistakable scent of the embers always burning.
Another not-to-be-missed stop just outside Catania is the coast and in particular the Gulf of Acitrezza, an enchanting place that with its Faraglioni stacks was chosen by Giovanni Verga as the setting for his most famous novel, 'I Malavoglia'.
Catania Fontanarossa airport is easily reached in half an hour by car, while Catania Centrale railway station is just over 2 km away.
