Cookie policy

Cookies use privacy policy

The object of this information is to make clear to Users the operation on this website (hereinafter "Site") of the so-called Cookies.

Definition of "cookie"

Cookies are short fragments of text (letters and/or numbers) sent by the site and memorised by your browser on the specific device used by you (computer, tablet, smartphone) and contain information that is re-used during the same visit or subsequent visits to the site, even if days apart. Cookies are memorised based on the user's preferences.

Furthermore, with the introduction of HTML5, different forms of local storage and other similar technologies are available, such as web beacon and transparent GIFs, which can be used to collect information regarding the behaviour and the user's choices and use of services.

In this document, to simplify this, we will use the term "cookie" when referring to cookies and all similar technologies.

Types of cookie

Based on the characteristics and use of cookies, we can separate them into different macro-categories:

  • Technical or session cookies. They are indispensable for the correct functioning of the site and are used to manage login and access to the reserved features of the site. The duration of the cookies is strictly limited to that particular session of work (ending when the browser is closed), with the exception of cookies with a longer duration whose exclusive function is to recognise the computer/device of the visitor for a limited period, using an alphanumeric code generated the during the first session of access. Their deactivation compromises the use of services accessible from login. The public part of the site remains useable like normal. "Cookies analytics" are also included in this category, only if used in an aggregated manner to collect and analyse traffic and to monitor services and the use of the site in an anonymous way. These cookies, whilst they do not identify the user, can be used, for example, to reveal if the same user connects again at a different time. They also allow the monitoring of the system and the improvement of services and accessibility. The deactivation of such cookies can be carried out without any loss of functionality. The use of such cookies is also allowed in the absence of permission on the part of the affected party.
  • marketing cookies. These are permanent cookies used to identify (both in an anonymous and non-anonymous manner) the user's preferences and improve their navigation experience, creating specific profiles, and are used with the aim of sending advertisement messages in line with the choices made by the user whilst navigating online.
  • Profiling cookies. The site does not use cookies of this type.
  • Third party cookies. By visiting a website, it is possible that you may receive cookies both from the visited site ("proprietari"), and from sites managed by other organisations ("terze parti"). The management of information collected by "terze parti" ” is organised by the related information which we ask you to read. In order to guarantee a greater transparency and convenience, the following table sets out the types and web addresses of the different information and the ways to manage third party cookies.

Duration of cookie

Some cookies (session cookies) remain active only until the browser is closed or the user logs out. Other cookies "survive"the browser closing and are available in the user's future visits.

These cookies are called lasting and their duration is fixed from the server right from the moment of their creation. In some cases, their duration is fixed, in others it is unlimited. Except for those cookies whose information are memorised exclusively for technical purposes, the site does not use lasting cookies..

However, navigating websites, it is possible to interact with sites managed by third parties that may create or modify permanent and profiling cookies.

Management of cookies

The user can decide whether or not to accept cookies by using their own browser's settings.

Please note: total or partial disabling of technical cookies may compromise the use of the site's functionalities reserved for registered users. On the other hand, the use of content accessible by the public is possible even when completely disabling cookies.

Disabling "third parties" does not prevent the user’s ability to navigate the site in any way.

The setting can be defined in a very specific way for different sites and web applications. Furthermore, the best browsers allow the user to define different settings for "proprietari" cookies and those from "third parties".

Using the browser's options menu, it is possible to manage and define whether or not to accept different types of cookies and proceed with their removal.
