The Solitude of Prime Numbers is a movie by Saverio Costanzo, released in 2010 and based on the homonymous novel by Paolo Giordano. Among the actors, there are Alba Rohrwacher and Luca Marinelli, who received many nominations for David di Donatello and Venice Film Festival. The movie tells the stories of Alice and Mattia, who had a difficult childhood. They bond, but they have in common the impossibility to communicate their feelings with each other. It is fully set in Torino, which contributes to making this production amazing, with its parks covered in autumn leaves and elegant palaces.

The Sunday Woman

The Sunday Woman is a 1975 thriller movie directed by Luigi Comencini, based on the homonymous novel by Carlo Fruttero and Franco Lucentini. Set in Torino, the movie revolves around Police Commander Santamaria who has to investigate the homicide of the architect Garrone. The architect used to live a dissolute life behind the mask of a respectable man. It is a satire of Torino’s bourgeoisie.

The movie offers a good representation of Torino during those years and a detailed tour in the Piedmontese capital.

After Midnight

After Midnight is a 2004 movie by Davide Ferrario, who was acclaimed by the critics, winning at David di Donatello and the Berlin International Film Festival. It is set in Torino, and part of the film is set right in the National Museum of Cinema, inside the Mole Antonelliana. The movie is about the love triangle between Mattia, the keeper of the museum who is in love with Aurora, who works in his favorite fast food restaurant, and who already has a boyfriend.
