Villa Malfitano, with its surrounding park, is an extraordinary example of the culture of Palermo. In Renaissance revival style, the villa has many beautifully decorated rooms over three floors and it holds a large collection of works of art that the original owner collected from many trips: furniture, paintings, ceramics and Flemish tapestries from the 16th century.

Today the collection is looked after by the Whitaker foundation. Around the villa there is a beautiful park of 7 acres, with rare plants from all over the world. Strong suit of the collection is a botanical garden with more than 150 species of orchids. The villa is in the city centre, close to the Politeama theatre (Teatro Politeama).It is also possible to rent the villa for private events.
