Valentine’s day in Turin

Torino

A walk along the Po River, a picnic on the hills, a romantic dinner in the city center: there are many activities for the lovers who would like to spend Valentine’s Day in Turin. The city is very elegant and, thanks to its charm, it’s the perfect destination for love declarations.

In this article you will find some ideas to spend a romantic Valentine’s Day in Turin.

A walk on the hill

Around Turin there are many places where you can admire the city from above, hugging while seeing the Mole, Piazza Vittorio, and Po at your feet.

One of the most spectacular places is the hill of Superga, whose landscape, according to Rousseau, is “the most beautiful spectacle that can strike the human eye”. Can you blame him? The view from this place is sensational. Furthermore, on the hill, there is a church, which was designed by Juvarra, one of the main representatives of Baroque art.

A good alternative to Superga is Monte dei Cappuccini, on the right riverbank of Po. It is very close to the historical center, hence it’s easily accessible. From this hill, you can enjoy the city and its wonders, thanks to the square outside of the monastery of the Cappuccini monks, from which it takes the name.

The streetlights in love

While walking in Parco del Valentino, you will come across the Giardino Roccioso, among exotic plants and fountains. In this part of the park, there is a sculpture that portrays two streetlights sitting on a bench, affectionately leaning on each other. It seems a good spot for a romantic walk and a kiss next to the “bench of lovers”.

Stars at the Planetarium

If you think that your love is written in the stars, then you have to surprise your significant other with a dinner at the Planetarium. In fact, on every St. Valentine’s day, dinners for two are hosted along with a show screening love stories among the constellations that are visible during that time of the year: the atmosphere is perfect to celebrate this special day with the person you love.
