Your first experience with public transport in Palermo might seem like a disaster, but with a bit of patience and a sense of adventure, you must try it out. We particularly recommend the famous 101.
After the Cathedral, Piazza della Vergogna and the four Canti, it’s there.
The bus crosses almost the entire city, so it is always one of the most crowded. Departing from Central Station, it stops various times in via Roma, the road parallel to via Maqueda.
Be patient and you will reach Vucciria Market, and soon enough you will come to the city’s most important squares. You can choose to get off the bus at the stop on via Cavour to walk towards the Massimo Theatre or carry on towards the Politeama Theatre down via della Libertà, passing the English Gardens opposite before arriving at the Stadium.
If you wish, you can also take another bus that will take you to the beach of Palermo, Mondello.
