One of the most attractive areas in Apulia

The Valle d’Itria is located right in the heart of Puglia, and runs from Ostuni in the south to Putignano in the north. Its wooded slopes, vineyards and famous olive groves with the cone-shaped roofs of the trullo houses are all typical of the area. It is not a valley in the true sense of the word, but a karst depression that runs between the towns of Locorotondo, Cisternino and Martina Franca.

Castellana Caves

This geological phenomenon has also created the Castellana caves that run for around 3 kilometers under the north-east side of this valley.

The two seas Thanks to the narrow shape of Puglia, even if you are in the centre of the Valle d’Itria, you are never far from its two seas. Driving there is easy in both directions – to the east there is the Adriatic Sea and to the west is the Ionian Sea, where you can enjoy the large sandy beaches and turquoise waters that contribute to this region’s popularity.

Gastronomy 

Food lovers will never be disappointed here.

Every town in this valley seems to have its own specialty: capocollo ham in Martina Franca, meat pies in Cisternino (cooked directly at the butchers for you) or the DOC white wine in Locorotondo.

Obviously, there is olive oil and famous cheeses, including the delicious burratinas that have reached the refined palates of every art in the world.
