The beaches inside the reserve are more than 7km long, and they all consist of coasts. There are beaches with sand and rocky ones with crystal clear water. Here's a list of the most beautiful beaches in the reserve.
At the north entrance to the Reserve, leave your car in the car park and walk for around 10 minutes and 400 metres on food, and you will reach the beach of Eloro: fine, clear sand, a shallow sea surrounded by Mediterranean shrubs and pools of sweet water, close to the estuary for the River Tellaro.
Wilder and more difficult to reach, Marianelli is the second beach you come across from the north entrance. Amongst almond and lemon trees is a sandy beach with a few rocky paths.
Perhaps because of the difficulty of finding it, this beach is preferred by nudists and those who are looking for a bit of privacy. Never too crowded, even in high season.
Calamosche is the most famous but also the most crowded beach in the Reserve. It is a sandy cove that extends for around 200 metres, marked by two rocky headlands that protect it from the currents, resulting in a calm, crystalline sea. Calamosche has its own entrance, which can be accessed from SP19.
There is a car park on site, and the beach is a further 1.2 kilometre walk away, through a beautiful landscape of untouched nature.
Vendicari is large and fascinating, dominating the left side of the splendid Tonnara structure. Right opposite is the isle of Vendicari. Here, the crystalline, transparent sea stays just so, becoming a dark blue colour because of the presence of seaweed in some areas along the beach.
Be careful, because this is a sign of the extreme health of the oxygenated waters here as in few other places. You can access the beach from the south of the Reserve, walking down a short path lined with trees and then bogs, inhabited by birds.
