Lake Como offers some of the most suggestive urban, landscape and architectural gems of the entire Italian peninsula. Among these treasures, Bellagio stands out, The Pearl of Lario, a village of just over 3000 inhabitants at the northern tip of the Triangolo Lariano, where the two branches of the Lake divide.
Among the most fascinating aspects of this village are undoubtedly its enchanting villas, celebrated throughout the world for their splendour and their meticulously maintained gardens. Among the most famous is Villa Melzi, with its 18 km of roads and paths in the garden and its works of art, and Villa Serbelloni, now a study centre and conference venue of the Rockefeller Foundation which features a wonderful garden. The historic centre, with its numerous small shops located along narrow stepped alleyways, passages and porticoes, is renowned throughout the world and attracts thousands of tourists every year. The territory of Bellagio is vast and varied, you can visit the different lakeside hamlets such as Borgo di Bellagio, Loppia, San Giovanni and Pescallo, up to the summit of Monte San Primo, reachable via a dense network of paths and routes for lovers of trekking and nature. Finally, Bellagio is well connected by ferry to nearby villages such as Varenna, Lenno, Bellano, Menaggio, Tremezzo and Como.
The centre of Bellagio and the pier are only 7 kilometres from the apartment whilst Bergamo Orio al Serio airport is 1 hour and 30 minutes away by car.
