overview
Welcoming and elegant recently renovated apartment, a stone's throw from Porta Maggiore.
The apartment is located on the ground floor of a noble building from 1470, built by architect Antonio Morandi (known as Terribilia). It was the seat of the cultural circle of the Accademia del Gelato and the first private theatre in Bologna. It enjoys a Renaissance garden located in a private courtyard of 1000 sqm, away from noise and traffic. The entrance opens onto the living area furnished with a double sofa bed, a television, a dining table and a fully equipped kitchen. The sleeping area consists of a spacious bedroom with double bed, desk, wardrobe and an en suite bathroom with shower, and a second bedroom with single bed, desk and wardrobe. An additional bathroom with shower completes the layout. Furthermore, guests will be able to enjoy the garden, shared with the two other accommodations within the building.
*The apartment, being on the ground floor, is equipped with French doors.
*The apartment is located in a ZTL zone, we recommend leaving your car in one of the surrounding car parks and enjoying the historic centre on foot.
*Upon arrival or a few days before arrival, a tourist tax may be requested, the amount of which varies according to local regulations. You will find all information relating to your booking within the Guest Area of Wonderful Italy.
Bologna, called the Learned City being home to the oldest University in the Western world, the Fat City for its gastronomic excellence and the Red City for the colour that characterises the historic centre, is a wonderful city of art, culture and commerce. Its soul resides in the medieval historic centre which is among the most extensive in Europe and rich in taverns, shops and theatres, characterised by almost 40 km of arcades. In the historic centre you will find Piazza Maggiore where the charm of medieval palaces combines perfectly with modernity. Not to be missed are the Fountain of Neptune by Giambologna and the Medieval Towers, the Asinelli Tower and the Garisenda Tower, part of a rich cultural heritage preserved in numerous museums, galleries and religious buildings. It is impossible to leave Bologna without having tasted its gastronomic products, including mortadella, tortellini, ragù alla bolognese accompanied by the well-known DOC wines from the Colli Bolognesi! Rich in exhibitions, fairs and cultural events, Bologna is a city capable of surprising you all year round.
The central train station is approximately 3 km from the flat whilst the airport can be reached by car in approximately 30 minutes.
