A natural jewel

The site, of extraordinary beauty, is surrounded by a canyon, created by two rivers: Anapo and Calcinara. The reserve and the necropolis of Pantalica are the best destination for those who love culture, nature and trekking. The site appears diversified and offers different environments that let the biodiversity develop.

Flora and fauna

Thanks to the river and the quality of the water, it is the natural habitat to the Sicilian trout and the brown trout. It's also possible to find the kingfisher, eagles and hawks. In the zone there are also foxes, small reptiles, snakes and turtoises. Along the river there are wonderful plants, such as plane trees and poplars. If you go to the valley, you're gonna admire the wonderful Mediterranean scrub. In spring, the perfumes and the colors here are spectacular.
